| Program Description | Acton Academy Alpharetta is part of an affiliate network of schools that are re-thinking education by focusing more on character, values and curiosity by empowering children through a Socratic approach and entrepreneurial culture. The latest in educational technology for self-paced mastery of reading, writing, and math skills. Deep Socratic discussions about heroes, history, and self-governance to hone critical thinking skills and the ability to powerfully think, write and speak. Hands-on project-based Quests to master the tools and skills needed to solve problems in the real world. Written promises and covenants that form a tightly bound community of individuals learning to form authentic friendships and honestly resolve interpersonal problems. NO teachers. Instead we have guides that ask questions and nurture curiosity in mixed age studios. NO grades. Instead, we use gamified, adaptive approach to encourage mastery. NO homework. Instead we feel time at home should be cherish with the opportunity to discover passions and interests. Our beliefs at Acton include: Our daily schedule includes Socratic discussions, core skills, lunch, recess and hands-on project-based quests.
