HOMESCHOOL DAY AT THE CAPITOL
It's Time to Register!
Attendance at Homeschool Day at the Capitol is open to everyone, but we ask that you register so that we know to expect you. Please register your attendance for this event taking place on March 5th, 2025 at the Capitol Building in Atlanta.
Visiting the Capitol and your legislators is always free, but the GHEA educational programming has a small fee. GHEA is offering educational programming on the legislative process and judicial process.
This year we have arranged a behind-the-scenes Judicial Tour of the Judicial Center for older students (aged 14-18). The Judicial Tour is limited to 50 students at the request of the hosting court officials (see below for dress code for this Tour).

Lunch
Lunch is not provided. If you bring your own lunch, we will have the Garden Room available for families (no food in the sanctuary, please).
There are two cafeterias nearby: one in the Floyd Building and one on the first floor of the 244 Washington Street building. Note that these have limited hours: 7:00-10:00 for breakfast and 11:00-1:30 for lunch.
There are also several snack bars including one on the ground floor of the Capitol.
Maps
Registered attendees will receive an additional map via email, but here are links to maps of the area around the Capitol building and also a map of public parking (and MARTA) near the Capitol.
Please allow extra time for Atlanta traffic and for parking.
Visit your Legislators
We would LOVE for as many families as possible to try to visit their state legislators. Let them know that you are a homeschooler from their district. Try to schedule an appointment (in advance), or just stop by their office to speak with them or their staff. Be polite, thank them for their service, and leave them with a positive impression of homeschoolers.
You can enter your home address at this website to find the names of your Georgia Senator (called upper chamber on that website) and Georgia Representative (lower chamber).
A few legislators have offices inside the Capitol, but most are across the street in the Coverdell Legislative Office Building (CLOB). You can search for your Senator and Representative and click on their name to find their office number and learn more about them.
